History
Andrew Whitney created Big Vintage Imports in 2004 as a way to get closer to a personal dream of his; owning a vineyard. “It has also been my excuse to be able to travel back to Argentina a few times a year.” Whitney quips. But little did he know that the business would become a letter of introduction to travel and meet wonderful people who are all part of an ancient tradition that encompasses all parts of the world. Big Vintage Imports now works with six vineyards with plans to expand throughout 2007.

Philosophy
Big Vintage, as a wine importing company is focused on searching for wines from smaller producers in South America and Europe. As a company, Big Vintage has sought out wines from vineyards who may be little known or not known at all, but which offer great products and are truly representative of the countries and regions from where they originate.
Big Vintage has chosen to be a small wine importer that can deal on a very intimate basis with the vineyards and distributors with whom it does business. As a result we have chosen to do work with vineyards who share this same philosophy.
Leadership
For over 20 years, Andrew Whitney has held management and executive level positions at insurance, agri-business and consulting companies in both Argentina and the United States.
His entrepreneurial spirit, amiable nature and adept communication skills have transcended cultural differences in building relationships and executing business transactions on three continents.
